1. MetLife Stadium (New York/New Jersey)

  • Significance: Selected to host the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final. MetLife Stadium is a premier outdoor sports venue that regularly hosts massive sporting events and music concerts.

2. Estadio Azteca (Mexico City)

  • Location: Mexico City, Mexico
  • Significance: The cathedral of Mexican football. The Azteca will make history as the first stadium to host matches in three different World Cups (1970, 1986, and 2026). It will host the opening match of the tournament.

3. SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles)

  • Significance: A marvel of modern engineering. Boasting a translucent canopy roof and a massive dual-sided 4K Oculus video board, SoFi will host the United States team’s opening group match.

4. BC Place (Vancouver)

  • Significance: Located on the shores of False Creek, BC Place features an incredible retractable roof and is Canada’s premier stadium for international matches.

Match Scheduling and Travel

With 48 teams playing 104 matches, FIFA has divided the tournament into three regional zones (East, Central, West) to minimize travel times for both players and fans. This geographic grouping ensures that teams will play their group stage matches within their respective zones.
